Glenn Andrew Cartledge

Andrew is a Contract Floor Covering Installer for the past 43 years. During this time, he has worked as a Foreman Leading Hand on Major Commercial Jobs, overseeing the installation of carpet and commercial vinyl products, in hospitals and schools in Victoria. Andrew has also employed and trained three apprentices for his own business, all of whom have gone on to be successful tradesmen.

As a Contractor, Andrew installs carpet, vinyl, and timber flooring daily.  During these installations, he uses sanding and grinding machines to level and polish floors as required. During his time in the flooring industry, Andrew has also been involved in the sale of products to his clients as well as consulting with builders, architects, and project managers.

Andrew has been employed as a contractor trainer and Assessor with TFIA for the past 10 years and he has contributed to the growth of the RTO’s success.  His expertise and knowledge of the Flooring Industry have been extensively used to design and develop updated training resources for the apprentices.

Andrew has also conducted residential training projects in Victoria and Tasmania for not-for-profit organisations which have broadened his trade experience and knowledge of different techniques and products while working with industry stakeholders on the job. It has also given him a better understanding of the roles of employees and apprentices.

His passion and commitment to training have seen many apprentices complete their apprenticeships successfully.

Paul Maher

Paul Maher has over 30 years of experience in the Flooring Industry.  Commencing his career as a floor installer in 1970, Paul worked at his parent's business, gaining extensive experience in all flooring installation, both commercial and domestic. In 1986, Paul purchased his parent's business and continued to work in the industry until he sold the business.

His passion for the Flooring Industry saw him return to the industry, and he joined TFIA as a Trainer and Assessor.   Paul brings to the TFIA his extensive experience training young people through his previous roles and a good understanding of training and guiding future generations of floor installers, supporting them with their online, onsite and remote learning.
